Cycle the forested Constantia Greenbelt; and then enjoy a safari cycle through fynbos and stunning scenery in the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve to the fabled Cape Point. This is a great day of adventure!
If you’re in search of something a bit more adventurous and would like to experience the Cape Peninsula off the beaten track, then this tour is for you.
Ride the breathtaking Constantia Greenbelt which hugs the eastern slopes of Table Mountain and enjoy a safari-like experience from your bicycle saddle in the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve, home to dozens of species of animals, including a variety of birds, reptiles, antelopes and baboons.
Depart the city with your specialist cycling guide and travel to the suburb of Constantia with its beautifully overgrown jungle-like green thicket that blocks out the sounds from surrounding roads. It’s like stepping out of the city and straight into the middle of a serene forest. Enjoy a guided cycle along 9 km of the Constantia Greenbelt, starting at Silverhurst and riding along the Keysers River, past Belle Constantia and ending with the Lower Tokai Loop. Upon conclusion of this cycle route, meet up with your driver and touring vehicle to proceed on a drive via Simon’s Town to the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve. Here you enjoy a ride through the reserve which is best experienced by bike. There is no better way to uncover its hidden treasures like the 1 100 species of indigenous plants, various small reptiles, mammals, antelope and zebras that call the park home. Be sure to visit the Buffelsfontein Visitor Centre that showcases all the plants and animals to look out for in a particular season and is full of informative signage. Enjoy lunch (to own account) and a walk to Cape Point Lighthouse to enjoy the breathtaking views from this vantage point, high on the tip of the peninsula. As you gaze out over the ocean, the next stop is Antarctica, way down south! Leave the reserve and the tour concludes with a drive via Noordhoek Farm Village and through Silver Mine Nature Reserve and the pass that takes you over the Steenberg mountains on the Oue Kaapse Weg.
